Bilingual Graphic Recording

When participants move between English and Spanish, visuals can help ensure all ideas are celebrated, visible, and accessible across English and Spanish. 

Chrissie Bonner, founder of Illustrating Progress, creates graphic recordings that support bilingual conversations by visually capturing ideas and incorporating English and Spanish text, as appropriate. 

Her interest in Spanish is long-standing and continues to shape her work. She was born in Cuba, has studied Spanish independently for years, traveled throughout Latin America, and actively seeks opportunities to use Spanish in her personal and professional life.

Although she is not a native speaker or Latina, she brings genuine curiosity, careful listening, and respect to bilingual spaces. Her goal is not to replace interpreters or translators, but to create illustrations that help keep all ideas visible and accessible across languages.
